Sea freight, the affordable way to move volume

For furniture, appliances and bulk orders, sea freight brings your goods to Paramaribo at a fraction of the cost of flying them.

Lowest cost per volume

Dramatically cheaper than air for anything large or heavy.

Billed by cubic foot

Price follows the space your goods occupy, not what they weigh.

Built for bulk

Furniture, appliances, tyres, building materials and shop stock.

How sea freight pricing works

Sea freight is charged on volume, measured in cubic feet (CFT). Measure your box in inches and the formula is:

CFT = Length × Width × Height ÷ 1728

All three measurements in inches. 1728 is the number of cubic inches in one cubic foot (12 × 12 × 12).

A box measuring 24″ × 18″ × 12″ works out to 5,184 cubic inches, or exactly 3 CFT. Our calculator does this for you — enter the three dimensions and it returns the CFT and the cost.

What ships well by sea

  • Furniture, mattresses and household goods
  • Refrigerators, washing machines and large appliances
  • Tyres, car parts and machinery
  • Building materials and tools
  • Wholesale stock for shops and market vendors

Timing

Sea freight takes considerably longer than air — expect weeks rather than days, depending on the origin region and sailing schedule. We publish the estimated arrival on your shipment as soon as the vessel departs, and update it if the schedule changes.

Consolidate to save more

Because sea freight is priced on volume, combining several packages into one well-packed shipment usually costs less than shipping each separately. Request a consolidation from your dashboard and our warehouse team will repack them together.
